An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Elections Team at Blackpool Council. Working in Elections places you at the heart of local democracy in a fast paced, interesting and unique area of work.
As a Senior Electoral Services Adviser you will support the planning and delivery of all electoral process including the annual canvass and ongoing registrations, the organisation of elections, polling district and boundary reviews.
You should have a proven track record in electoral registration and elections along with substantial knowledge and understanding of electoral law (in particular the Representation of the People Acts and regulations), electoral processes and best practice.
You will have strong communication skills, astute political awareness and the ability to work under pressure from different sources as well as organising, prioritising and managing your own workload.
Ideally you should hold the Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA) Certificate in Electoral Administration but if not you should have a willingness to complete the qualification within 24 months of appointment.
