Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Design Coordinator for a role with a Tier 1 contractor working on CP7 rail framework in the Swindon area. Role would be a great fit for a candidate with strong civils/rail background who is looking to further their career with this contractor who have a large book of work in the Southwest of England. Responsibilities: Compliance with Design Management Procedures Understand the requirements of ISO 9001 with respect to design. Be familiar with company tools and procedures and their application to achieve ISO 9001 compliance. Comply with project-specific Design Management Plan and revise same periodically Control and track design change using Design Manager’s Toolkit. Implement company and/or client’s design assurance procedures.Behavioural Leadership Apply the principles of the company Design Management Best Practice Guide to assist the Design manager to foster a collaborative relationship between design and production teams. Maintain all design project documentation up to date where required by Design Manager.Technical Oversight Be familiar with the technical requirements of the project. Facilitate technical co-ordination between disciplines and suppliers Attend design coordination meetings, take notes and update all trackers as necessary following meeting. Deliverable tracker, TQ tracker, RFI Tracker, IDCR tracker etc. Attend IDCs, take notes and chase up actions to close out Chase down responses to TQs and other design queries. Compile design packs for onward inclusion in construction contracts Check compliance with client deliverable requirements and keep record/tracker updated Coordinate all incoming information from designers, ensure design packs are complete for submission to client Collate incoming survey information, check completeness and issue to designers as needed Ensure site and commercial teams have access and are issued with most recent design documentationLegislative Compliance Assist Design manager in updates to CDM plans.Design for Health and Safety Assist Design manager where needed to check for compliance with NR and BS guidance of designing for HSCommercial and Contract Admin (With appropriate support from commercial staff): Assist DM in assessing work complete to inform period application for payment from design suppliersBIM Work with BIM / Doc control team to ensure project documentation is at correct project status and assisting BIM team where new information is incoming and needs uploading to CDE. Review designers documentation incoming for completeness with BIM requirement and respond to BIM queries from BIM team. Experience/qualifications: HND/Degree in an engineering discipline CSCS Understand the requirements of ISO 9001 with respect to design Understanding of NR/L2/INI/02009, NR/L2/CIV/003, NR/L2/CIV/003, NR/L2/P3M/201 and ability to manage works to these requirements Preferred Civil engineering background, experience of Earthworks and heavy civils Preferred experience of framework environment, and experience of multiple projects over multiple geographic locations This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is looking at furthering their career with a large Tier 1 contractor who have a huge amount of work across the Southwest.
