This role would suit a new or experienced Band 6 with an interest in Parkinson's Disease, neurological disorders and service development. This role would incorporate implementation of a quality improvement project for patients withParkinson's disease. This is a unique post where a suitably motivatedSLT would have the following CV-building opportunities; Delivering high-quality clinical care in the community in line with the national drive in preventative care. Partaking in a full quality improvement project with support from the organisation's QI lead and senior therapists FEES competencies and supporting inhouse, SLT-led FEEs service Developing highly specialist skills in the management of pwPD in line with NICE guidelines Ability to assist with the reshaping of our service provision to local care home residents. This will include looking at models of delivery, streamlining the service and helping leads to review data capture in this area. Main duties of the job We will consider applications for part-time candidates. Postgraduate training and experience in dysphagia and independent dysphagia management is a requirement of this post. You will have relevant experience in managing adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties. You will be expected to contribute to audit, QI and service development and will receive regular clinical supervision, support through team meetings, monthly clinical forums and access to further CPD opportunities. Evidence of appropriate qualification and HCPC membership is essential. Driving/car access is an essential requirement for this post however we would encourage interested non-drivers to apply and consider applications on acase-by-case basis. Salary is dependent on NHS experience and current banding/pay point.
