The role of Planner (Development Management) represents an opportunity to work as part of a team providing a Development Management service within Aberdeenshire. The role offers opportunities for being responsible for the assessing and determining of a varied caseload of planning applications and pre-applications enquiries, liaising with colleagues in other Services of the Council and external organisations in connection with development management matters and providing advice on planning matters to the public, developers, and Elected Members of the Council.
A flexible "blended" approach to working is currently used with some home working practices developed during the Covid pandemic and extensive use of technology sitting alongside office based working, a requirement to undertake site visits, and attend offices for team collaborative working and meetings and training events as necessary. This flexible "blended" approach to working is likely to continue as the Service remains committed to working within an enhanced digital environment., The successful postholder will be required to undertake site visits, as such an essential requirement for the postholder is the need to hold a full and valid driving licence.
