Gordon Murray Technologies is seeking ahighly skilled and experienced Project Engineer specializing inElectrical Distribution Systems (EDS). The successful candidate willplay a supporting role in the design, whilst supporting EDS engineersthrough the development, and implementation of advanced electricaldistribution systems (EDS) for our ground breaking automotiveprojects.
Responsibilities:
* Using Catia V5/V6 design various wiring harnesses (LV &HV) in the vehicle
* Be responsible for BOM content of ownedparts
* Discuss with various stake holders in the business andensure packaging of electrical components within design guidelines
* Support Packaging meeting and technical review meetings
* Support electrical in design review meetings with supplierand other stakeholders
* Release of responsible parts,including any child parts
* Develop respective CAD (3D & 2D)database or library as required
* Manage the design issuesthrough the company tracking system (JIRA) and ensure the closure ofthe tickets
* Develop and create 2D drawings as required
* Check and approve 2D drawings in line with 3D designs
* Support mechanical DV work and support the build as perreleased CAD design
* Own the design from concept through toproduction
* Support DFA/DFM reviews with harness suppliers andmanufacturing plant
* Support project engineers with packagingguidelines including installation / fixing requirements
* Create fixation strategy for electrical components andharnesses
* Manage the EBOM and component maturity / attributesvia 3DX platform
Experience andQualifications:
* Understanding Automotive New ProductDevelopment Process, Milestones and deliverables for each phases
* Demonstrable experience of automotive electrical wiringharness design and power distribution system design, development andmanufacture
* Good experience and knowledge of vehicleelectrical systems, ECUs and other electrically wired components
* Experience in design for good electrical and EMC performance.
* Good contacts within the EDS supplier eco-system includingTier 1 and component suppliers.
* Knowledge of hybrid andfull-electric electrical vehicle architectures and wiring systemswould be advantageous.
* Extensive experience of using CATIA V5or V6
* Desirable experience circuit design, wiring/fusingsystems and electrical packaging.
* Excellent understanding of2D drawings, electrical circuits
* Experience in creatingHarness Change Requests and managing the implementation of the changesthrough design release and suppliers
* Understanding ofharnesses re-works and interrogate vehicle circuits. Hands onexperience of minor electrical reworks is highly desirable.
* Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, sixsigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc).
* Experience in leading DFMEA and System (Electrical Interface)Reviews
* Experience in managing harness complexities,component databases (DTs)
* Working knowledge of relevantregulations and standards
* Experience is harness testing &validation process and engineering sign-off
* Ability to usevarious engineering development tools and collaborative platforms suchas Microsoft Office 365.

* Honor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical
* Honor’s degree in similar areas such as Electronics, ControlSystems, Automotive acceptable with relevant experience in the field
* Other recognised engineering qualifications combined withrelevant significant experience will be considered.
