As a progressive department we continually look to develop our services and are committed to the development of our staff. We fully support CPD. You will be responsible for managing the dispensary workload, labelling and dispensing medication for Inpatients, Outpatients, Controlled drugs and ensuring staff are supported and trained to provide a safe service for our customers. You will work as part of the wider Pharmacy team to support and develop the pharmacy provision, maximising efficiency and provide excellent patient care. Full training will be funded and provided by the trust for nationally recognised ACPT and Medicines Optimisation courses. Main duties of the job To dispense inpatient, outpatient and discharge medication using a pharmacy computer and robotic system. To dispense controlled drugs, unlicensed, cytotoxic and clinical trials medicines, keeping records according to departmental policy and legal requirements. To organise and plan the supply of medicines to patients, wards and departments served by the Trust. To develop and plan all section rotas and allocation of daily tasks as appropriate for all staff ensuring these are completed accurately and in a timely manner. To carry out the final checking of dispensed items. To ensure that the daily stock check is completed and ensure all discrepancies areresolved. To ensure good stock management is carried out using JAC report functions.
