MCH was awarded the children’s community health contract in June 2018, which has brought together 19 children’s community health services. Delivery of care is through the rainbow model, and the post holder will work within the Indigo diagnostic service for neurodiverse conditions and the Violet neurodisability service. Working in partnership with the therapists and nurses is key to the success of the pathways to ensure full multidisciplinary working to improve the patient experience.
Responsibilities
The post holder would be expected to lead or contribute as needed to the following clinical areas:
* Complex paediatric neuro-disability including cerebral palsy, Downs syndrome, dyspraxia diagnosis, chromosomal and genetic conditions and syndromes.
* Children with complex needs requiring a team approach.
* Working within the Violet pathway to assess children with developmental delay, intellectual disorders, and disabilities.
* Working within the Indigo MDT diagnostics service with children who present with a range of neurodiversity presentations including social communication and behaviour difficulties.
* Autistic spectrum disorder assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of management plans.
* Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder assessment, diagnosis, and management.
* Provision of medical advice to allied health professionals on patient clinical matters.
* Provide medical advice as part of the statutory special education needs and disabilities and EHCP process.
Knowledge, Training and Experience
* Extensive experience working within community paediatrics.
* Ability to use IT and maintain high-quality electronic clinical records.
* Experience of supervising and supporting less experienced doctors and the ability to work in conjunction with nurses and therapists.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise own workload and others as required.
