We have a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join the Mental Health team at HMP YOI Doncaster, a Category B male prison, with operational capacity of around 1145, 200 of which are males aged between 18 - 20 years old. HMP YOI Doncaster is a local resettlement prison in South Yorkshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work across inpatients and the wings, looking after mental health patients. No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment.

Hours: This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, working between 08:00 - 18:30, mainly Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends / bank holidays.
Salary: This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As our new Mental Health Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Work with mental health patients across the wings and the inpatients unit, looking after patients with severe mental health issues, personality disorders etc.
* Be a key part of the nursing team - assisting nurses and reporting back on findings and assessments.
* Be responsible for bloods and ECGs.
* Carry out physical care as necessary.
* Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times.
* Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics.

Person Specification
* Ideally hold a NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
* Have experience within a mental health environment
* Have knowledge of mental health issues
* Have experience of ECGs and bloods, or be willing to undertake this training
* Any experience in a prison / secure setting or hospital would be a bonus!
