Role Purpose To support the Casualty Manager, North, Scotland and NI to develop the Regional Retail business and working closely with Property to develop and deliver a P&C offering to our key/strategic brokers. Roles & Responsibilities Support the Casualty Manager : Assist in developing the UK retail footprint in the North, Scotland, and Northern Ireland regions; Provide strategic input and operational support to ensure business growth and profitability. Collaboration with Property Team: Work closely with the Property team to develop and deliver a Property & Casualty (P&C) offering; Focus on key and strategic brokers to enhance business relationships and offerings. Underwriting Profitable Business: Write and manage profitable business in line with the underwriting plan; Ensure that underwriting practices align with company goals and profitability targets. Manage Underwriting Risk Exposures: Oversee underwriting risk exposures for both new business and renewals; Operate within your own authority limits to ensure compliance and risk management. Requirements 5 years’ Insurance experience; Good Casualty Underwriting knowledge; Strong analytical skills; In depth understanding of underwriting principles; Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and other stakeholders; Effective communication and collaboration with the Property team and other departments crucial to delivering a comprehensive P&C offering; Understanding UK Regional Market protocols and practices; Negotiation, judgment and decision making skills; Strong numeracy skills; Professional business writing and presentation skills; Strong communicator, both written and oral; Business development and Broker relationship skills.
