The opportunity
Due to projects beginning to ramp up, our client is currently on the lookout for a proven Project Engineer to become responsible for managing the delivery of heavy civils infrastructure designs and work with users and other stakeholders to ensure that the integrated facility is delivered to time, cost, and quality for the sustainment capability.
This role has been deemed inside IR35.
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: £50.93 per Hour
The role will require frequent travel to design consultants' offices UK wide.
The role
As a Senior Project Engineer, your role will ensure effective design and project management of sub-packages within the WRB package. You will use your Project Management expertise to ensure that the design meets the technical and operational requirements of the facility.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Supporting the Package Manager who is responsible for the delivery of multiple sub-packages.
2. Working closely with the technical team to ensure deliverables meet stringent quality criteria by leading sub-packages through governance processes.
3. Responsible for working with schedule, commercial, cost and risk management functions to ensure that design packages are delivered to time, cost, and quality parameters.
4. Assisting the technical and project team in the development of requirements, project scope and solutions for specific work packages.
5. Translating supply chain reporting into usable data to inform planning, monitoring and control of work packages.
6. Managing input to cost and budget monitoring.
7. Document & Deliverable management.
8. Managing the risk process including the identification, assessment, planning and implementation of risks, opportunities, and issues.
9. Assisting with administering the NEC contract using CEMAR.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
1. You will have experience in management, ideally within an infrastructure delivery.
2. It is preferable that you will have experience managing and administering an NEC4 contract.
3. The project is located on a Nuclear Licensed site, as such, experience in delivery of nuclear safety implicated structures, equipment or services would be desirable.
4. You must hold a bachelor's or master's degree, ideally in a STEM subject area.
It's great if you also have the following:
1. APM project management qualification (or equivalent).
2. NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation.
