The Company: Are one of the fastest growing transportation consultancies, providing specialist transport planning, traffic engineering and surveying services to public and private sector clients. They are a forward-thinking company that embraces innovation and change, with a core focus on sustainability in every approach. Based in Old Street, in a modern office, they are a circa 50 strong, dynamic team of experts, that want to welcome you, a Senior Traffic Order Consultant to the team!
Responsibilities:
* Managing a portfolio of local authority clients.
* Programme managing the various projects the team works on; this is mainly, but not limited to traffic order projects.
* Overseeing the maintenance of traffic order records and databases.
* Providing advice and training to the team and clients.
* Assisting with client invoicing and project management for our clients.
* Drafting and processing a variety of different traffic orders, including for permanent, experimental and temporary traffic schemes.
* Drafting related statutory notices and documents under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and other relevant legislation.
* Arranging for advertisement of statutory notices in the press.
* Sending out statutory consultations and dealing with any resulting correspondence.
* Responding to client correspondence and requests in a timely fashion and making sure that any enquiries are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
* Ensuring all project files are kept up to date and in line with the company's QA system.
* GIS mapping and plotting of restrictions.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience of drafting permanent, experimental and temporary traffic orders.
* Demonstrative knowledge of relevant traffic order legislation, regulations and procedures.
* Experience of working with local authorities.
Desirable experience:
* Good understanding of parking and traffic engineering design processes.
* Experience in GIS mapping and map-based traffic order systems.
* Knowledge of traffic and parking enforcement procedures within local authority.
Desirable skills:
* Proficient in computer programs, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Good project management and communication skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* High standard of written English.
