Job summary We are looking for 1 full time Surgical Clinical Practice facilitators to work across the surgical division to provide high level clinical skills training and education to our nursing workforce. Take an active role in supporting the development and delivery of training and education to the registered and non-registered nursing team in ward level ensuring a skilled and competent workforce. To deliver facilitation to registered and non-registered nursing team in clinical practice and evaluate the quality of learning. To develop, facilitate, deliver and evaluate a range of pastoral support to all staff especially in terms of supporting attendance; work anxiety; career progression; and personal stress through acting as or referring to available support within the organisation Help develop, deliver and evaluate a range of clinical skills training and competencies and ensure that all members of staff are up-to-date and are compliant to the clinical skills policies. Main duties of the job This role will support both registered and non-registered staff: To promote a learning environment that ensures evidence-based practice and optimal service delivery by leading the development and education on a ward level. To act as a specialist in education, clinical skills and practice development. To work closely with all staff involved in training and education and all other facilitators. To support the delivery of education and development underpinned by the workforce strategy. Collaborate with the ward manager in supporting the on-boarding process for staff newly appointed to the ward. Responsible in providing safe, timely and efficient ward facilitation to all learners in the ward. To liaise with the ward manager and lead the ward team including practice supervisors / practice assessors by supporting learning of all staff group To maintain effective, complete and accurate recording of learning to maintain up-to-date records for each member of staff with regard to development and skills training and competency. To ensure staff have undertaken relevant training and are fully informed and competent in the use of all equipment within the clinical area in conjunction with the ward manager. To create a learning environment on a ward level that is centred towards reducing risk and increasing learning through support in terms of Human Factors and Simulation in line with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
