Job Overview
We are Lineat Composites, a cutting-edge clean-tech start-up based in Chepstow, and we're seeking a highly motivated Composite Research Engineer to join our team.
Your primary focus will be on developing material testing and manufacturing procedures for our innovative recycled composite materials. You'll be responsible for:
* Conducting thorough material testing, including sampling and characterising of aligned fibre material from various production batches.
* Developing and validating new testing methods to accurately confirm conformance of our materials.
* Performing composite manufacturing trials under different processing conditions, analysing the effects on resulting composite material properties, and creating best-use guides.
* Identifying opportunities to enhance product quality, from production to manufacturing methods.
You'll work closely with our CTO and production team to resolve any non-conformance issues and collaborate with the engineering and R&D teams to support ongoing research and development activities within Lineat.
To succeed in this role, you'll require:
* A degree in Engineering or Material Science, preferably with a MSc or PhD in Fibre Composites.
* At least two years of experience working with composite materials and a good understanding of composite manufacturing processes and testing methods.
* The ability to perform composite manufacturing and testing activities independently.
* Strong operational and research skills, particularly in new procedure development and data management.
* Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, from production staff to management and customers.
In return, we offer a competitive salary package and excellent growth and development prospects. We estimate the salary range to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on your experience and qualifications.
