Primary Care 24 (PC24) are excited to share the position of Lead Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner (APNP) within our paediatric primary care streaming service based at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The successful applicant will be responsible for clinical leadership and strategic development within urgent care for both trainee and qualified APCP’s, as well as supporting educational supervisors and engaging directly with Higher Education Institutes (HEI’s) for the delivery of academic modules.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establishing productive and progressive working relationships with key staff at AHCH, to ensure smooth delivery of the service and clinical capacity is maximized at all times
* Reviewing and updating clinical pathways as required
* Represent PC24 at MDT/governance meetings with all key stakeholders
* Providing strategic development and leadership of the APCPs in urgent care and junior nursing staff
* Delivery of an approved advanced practice curriculum (national or local in absence) for trainee practitioners
* Contributing to organisational-wide strategies surrounding performance and improvement
* Contributing to workforce planning and considerations around organisational systems affecting resilience and retention
* Support the development of a Faculty for Enhanced and Advanced Practice to provide a governance structure to the training and development of advanced practice across urgent care

About you:
* You will be an experienced APNP who is able to deliver quality individualised care to children and young people with a high level of autonomy underpinned by the four pillars of Clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research
* You will hold a master’s in advanced clinical practice, credentialling qualification (or equivalent) and non-medical prescribing qualification. Along with extensive paediatric expertise, you will be confident in undertaking comprehensive face to face assessments and communicating robust management plans following clinical review and examination
* Within your professional boundaries you will assess, diagnose and prescribe where appropriate, providing advice and care for children and young people presenting with undiagnosed and undifferentiated illnesses
As a PC24 APNP you will have an MSc in advanced Clinical Practice:
* Full NMC Registration with no restrictions
* MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, or equivalent level of practice evidenced through a recognised credentialing process
* Non-Medical Prescriber – V300
* Clinical Examination and Diagnostics Level 7
* Extensive senior paediatric experience within the emergency care / urgent care / acute hospital / or primary care settings
