Job Description
Leicester City Council is seeking a Social Worker to join our Children in Need Team to play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at risk. The successful candidate can expect to to be paid up to £38 per hour & will be responsible for:
* Conducting thorough assessments of children and families referred to the Children in Need Team, developing individualised care plans, and coordinating with relevant agencies and professionals.
* Identifying and addressing potential risks to children's well-being, promoting positive parenting strategies, and connecting families to community resources.
* Working effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including colleagues, parents, carers, educational institutions, and other professionals, to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting the needs of children.
* Maintaining detailed and accurate case records, preparing reports, and contributing to data analysis and service evaluation.
* Advocating for the rights and best interests of children, empowering families to build their own capacity, and promoting their resilience.
* Providing direct support, guidance, and counselings to children and families facing a range of challenges, including but not limited to:
1. Family breakdown and separation
2. Domestic violenct
3. Neglect
4. Substance misuse
