Search are supporting the recruitment of a Trust Accountant to join our client's Edinburgh office with hybrid working. If you're experienced in trust accounting and looking to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, you would be encouraged to apply.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing and coordinating accounts for trusts, executries, and charities.
2. Auditing, editing and comparing various types of trust accounts.
3. Determining correct opening balances and gathering necessary information for account preparation.
4. Reconciling Trust cash accounting and the investment register.
5. Collaborating with Tax team to establish tax retentions and reconcile Trust tax position.
6. Working closely with legal/tax teams, external investment managers, and tax advisors.
7. Providing additional administrative support for larger trust and charity clients.
8. Ensuring financial and business awareness to deliver cost-effective and efficient services.
Skills and experience that will benefit your application:
1. Knowledge of legal accountancy, particularly in relation to trusts and executries.
2. Demonstrable communication skills, able to effectively engage clients and colleagues.
3. Experience using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
4. Proactive approach.
5. Experience in a similar role within professional services environment.
6. High level of discretion and confidentiality.
