Job Description This is a full-time permanent position, working a 37 hour week flexibly Monday - Friday 07:00 - 19:00 We are currently recruiting for a full time, enthusiastic and innovative Material Scientist. This is a new and exciting opportunity based at our client’s facility, a world class Pharmaceutical company based in Kent. The successful candidate will provide expertise within the Material Science service area spanning raw materials, APIs and Drug Products, strong planning skills, report writing skills, problem solving skills. Additionally, will be able to think logically and have the ability to effectively collaborate with and communicate scientific ideas to both internal and external partners is a requirement. Furthermore, there are opportunities to expand knowledge and expertise and provide mentorship. Job Description Demonstrate an understanding in the analyses required in the formulation of amorphous dispersions and other solid dosage forms. Demonstrate an understanding of material characteristics and how they relate to ability to formulate and formulation stability. Understand and demonstrate experience in a range of materials characterisation techniques able to bring understanding of finished drug product, and API behaviours. Solid understanding of formulation techniques and the required particle properties. Demonstrate understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and be able to support investigations as required. Support in the design of protocols and experimental work. Report and communicate project outcomes in an appropriate manner. Familiarisation with electronic lab notebooks and ALCOA principles for the recording of data. Identify and resolve promptly any problems occurring at any phase of a study, escalating to the line manager where necessary. Maintain all areas of the laboratory in a safe, clean and tidy state. Coach, develop and mentor less experienced colleagues as an SME in your field. Ensure training record is maintained to current GxP, where required. Ensure all applicable quality measures are met and adhered to. Assist in the creation and maintenance of relevant current GxP documents. The role holder is responsible for maintaining current GxP and Health and Safety Knowledge relevant to the role. Write or constructively review SOP’s, Protocols, technical reports, risk assessments as required.
