Job Title: Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Design Engineer (Subsea Equipment)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Development: Participate in the design and development of electrical and control systems for subsea equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
2. Project Lifecycle Involvement: Participate in all phases of project development, from initial client requirements through to design, installation, testing, and customer acceptance.
3. Technical Support: Provide technical support across various departments, including Sales, Project Management, and Production.
4. System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
5. Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
6. Testing and Validation: Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and support on-site commissioning activities.
7. Safety Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to safety standards and regulations, including machinery safety and explosive atmosphere requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Education: BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent work experience.
Experience:
1. Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor), and familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems.
2. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
3. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
4. Experience: Experience with subsea control systems and knowledge of industry standards (e.g., API, ISO).
5. Familiarity: Familiarity with network communication protocols (e.g., MODBUS, RS485).
6. Experience: Experience with sizing and selection of power system components, cables and glands, earthing, and earth bonding.
