We're part of the Tax Technology & Innovation team, responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions for a wide range of UK and global tax products. Our solutions share a common design system to ensure consistency, accessibility, and quality across multiple applications. You will join a small design team who collaborate with a cross-functional group of Product Owners, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and QA professionals. Crucially, we also offer the benefit of clear career progression., In this role you will be part of a small team of Product Designers across a variety of projects for both our clients and our internal professionals. You will be responsible for the following:
* Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into user-centred designs and interfaces.
* Lead workshops, design sprints, and stakeholder meetings-using Miro to define project goals, scope, and deliverables.
* Work closely with Development and QA teams to verify that requirements are understood, feasible, and accurately implemented.
* Create prototypes, user flows, and wireframes in Figma, clearly visualizing user journeys and interactions.
* Present design concepts, prototypes, and recommendations to leadership and project stakeholders, adapting your communication style as needed.
* Stay current on UX trends, tools, and best practices, proactively introducing new methodologies or frameworks to enhance the team's design capabilities., We can potentially facilitate flexible hours, and part-time options. Demonstrable experience as a Product Designer or UX/UI Designer, with a portfolio showcasing user-centred design for web or mobile products.
* Proficiency in Figma (or equivalent), including creating components, building prototypes, and crafting detailed design artifacts for developer handoffs.
* Excellent grasp of UX principles, user research methods, interaction design, and visual design fundamentals.
* Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
* Enthusiasm for delivering excellent products and user experiences.
Skills we'd love to see/Amazing Extras:
* Experience in front-end development (HTML/CSS) or familiarity with frameworks such as Blazor, React, or Angular.
* Experience in creating, maintaining, and evolving design systems for scalable, multi-product environments.
* Experience in planning, conducting, and synthesizing user research to inform product design decisions.
* Experience working alongside development teams to address design-to-code challenges, ensuring designs are implemented accurately.
