HR Adviser Location: Paisley (Hybrid – typically 1 day a week in office) Salary: £37,014 per annum Fixed Term Contract: up to 12 months (maternity cover) Hours: 35 per week Are you ready to make a meaningful impact as an HR Adviser? Can you provide expert guidance, resolve complex cases, and shape People policies to create a positive difference in people's lives? A day in the life of a HR Adviser You’ll be the go-to person for Line Managers, providing them with expert advice and support for their complex enquiries and cases that need resolution. You'll also play a crucial role in enhancing People policies, procedures, and the people management skills of Line Managers through coaching and guidance. You’ll be regularly involved in: Providing quick and accurate responses to HR Assistant's escalated enquiries, keeping managers informed if immediate response is not possible. Discussing and investigating issues with peers, Line Manager, or Expert Services for further guidance when needed. Logging cases and updating the enquiry log for detailed guidance required by line managers. Identifying opportunities to update online advice and guidance or suggest improvements where necessary. Agreeing on resolution timeline with the relevant line manager for handling cases and provide regular updates. Offering knowledgeable support in line with policies and legal requirements, escalating complex issues as needed. Reviewing case load with Head of People Operations to ensure progress and agree on additional support if required. Implementing agreed outcomes by obtaining necessary authority, completing accurate paperwork, and scheduling further actions or communications. To be a successful HR Adviser, you’ll need: A relevant qualification in HR or equivalent experience. It's important to be familiar with case handling, effective communication, letter writing, and providing advice and guidance. To make sure you have a strong knowledge of employment law, HRIS usage, and strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Previous experience in volunteer management, coaching, handling difficult conversations, and delivering excellent customer service is highly valuable. It would be great if you have experience as an HR generalist. Dealing with various cases, promoting workforce diversity, and working in a Business Partnering model.
