Fortem Solutions are currently recruiting for a Service Manager to join our Longhurst Group contract, based in our Smart Hub in Hitchin. This is a full-time permanent position, Monday – Friday.
The Customer
Fortem have a long term contract with Longhurst Group with the option to extend again if is going well and we currently support nearly 8,000 houses, however we’re expecting that to increase significantly in 2025. Our contract includes Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works and FRA workstreams with plans to expand into Planned Works and Preventative Maintenance as well.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting into the Operations Manager you will:
1. Have responsibility for managing and motivating a team, driving area and Branch performance, providing clear objectives, direction and leadership.
2. Drive close working relationships with the branch to ensure the One Team culture is embedded within the team.
3. Be responsible for ensuring customer complaints are managed effectively and to a satisfactory conclusion.
4. Be responsible for ensuring that all customer management systems and processes are maintained effectively.
5. Be responsible for effective cost management, exceeding forecast, and driving profit improvement, within agreed business area.
6. Be responsible for H&S Compliance and development of the Safe4Life culture.
7. Be responsible for complying with all internal and external policies; preparing for and complying with any recommendations from Audit and inspections.
8. Develop, train and retain high quality staff to deliver high levels of customer service.
What You Will Need
Essential criteria:
1. Experience within a similar role, ideally to management level.
2. Excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills.
3. Experience of managing teams.
4. Excellent dispute resolution skills.
5. Appropriate qualifications inc GCSE English & Math’s or equivalent.
6. Excellent planning and data interrogation.
Desirable:
1. Good understanding of Social Housing Building Maintenance.
2. City and Guilds to appropriate level or equivalent experience.
3. Experience of PDA’s.
4. Experience of workforce electronic scheduling systems.
5. Knowledge of H&S legislation and statutory requirements in relation to role.
