Sterile Services | Theatres | Decontamination | Cardiff | Part Time - 30 hours per week | Competitive salary
Spire Cardiff have an opportunity for an experienced Sterile Services Technician to join their team in the Decontamination department in Cardiff.
The Sterile Services department is responsible for the safe and effective decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment for use in surgical and interventional procedures within the hospital and to maintain high standards of safety and infection control.
Duties and responsibilities:
* To provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the operating department, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments in accordance with HTM 01-01
* Working as part of a team of sterile services technicians responsible for sterilizing all of the theatre instruments
* Accurately checking back into the department instruments which have been used in patient operations
* Decontamination, inspection, assembly, packing, sterilisation and distribution of medical and surgical instruments
* Undertake SSD routine tasks related to individual’s health and well being
Who we're looking for:
* Previous experience of working in a sterile services department
* Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
* To ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained in working areas
* Flexibility to work on our rota
* Must be comfortable with the physical nature of the role
* To promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department
Working Hours: Part Time - 30 hours per week
Monday - Saturday between 07.30 and 20:00 - Shifts will be on a variable rota basis
