We are looking for a confident and well-presented individual to join our phlebotomy team. The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations. The successful applicants must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills.
Based at Royal Stoke, the successful applicant will be expected to work at the community centres as well as Royal Stoke and County Hospitals. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail is important along with basic keyboard skills, and applicants should enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced patient environment.
It is a requirement of your role that you have access to a car for work purposes, which must be suitable for travelling to community phlebotomy clinics and transporting samples back to the hospital. It is your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is insured for class 1 business use and the transportation of pathology samples. Expenses will be paid in accordance with Trust Policy when you use your vehicle for work purposes.
We offer a phlebotomy service in a range of locations across North Midlands including Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, ward-based, community walk-in centres, and community appointment-based clinics.

* Tuesday: 1pm - 5pm
* Wednesday: 8am - 5pm
Qualifications / Training
Essential Criteria
* NVQ / QCF level 2 / apprenticeship level 2 or equivalent in related subject or GCSE English and maths at C grade or above or equivalent.
Desirable Criteria
* GCSE at grade C or above or equivalent in a science subject.
* Care related NVQ.
Experience
Essential Criteria
* Evidence of manual dexterity and technical work.
* Experience of working as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
* Previous work involving Phlebotomy.
* Work in a healthcare role or similar.
Skills & Knowledge
Essential Criteria
* Ability to work to defined protocols and seek advice where appropriate.
* Basic keyboard skills.
* Good written communication skills.

* Understanding of the job requirements.
