Job Description
As Assistant Head Sommelier, you’ll work closely with our Head Sommelier and wider F&B team to deliver a world-class wine experience, from building and maintaining an exceptional cellar to guiding guests through our curated wine pairings in a Michelin Green Star-awarded environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the management of our beverage programme, incorporating developing the cocktail list, wine list, wider beverage offering, procurement, stock control, and cellar management
2. Deliver warm, knowledgeable, and engaging service to guests
3. Mentor junior team members and contribute to staff training
4. Work closely with our chefs to create thoughtful pairings for tasting menus
5. Bring creativity, curiosity, and a love for beverage to the forefront of our dining experience
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
6. WSET Level 2 or above (Level 3 preferred)/Court of Master Sommeliers Basic and Certified levels
7. Previous sommelier or senior wine service experience in a fine dining environment
8. Strong knowledge of global wine regions and food pairings, spirits and other beverages.
9. A proactive and professional approach to service
10. A team player with a genuine passion for hospitality
11. Right to live and work in the UK
12. Ability to commute to Palé Hall or willingness to relocate (temporary accommodation available)
