As the Cards and Clearing Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end operations of the card services and clearing processes on behalf of a prestigious banking institution. You will be responsible for managing systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering excellent service to clients. Key Responsibilities Card Operations: Oversee issuance, activation, and management of debit and credit cards, ensuring security and service excellence. Clearing Systems: Manage daily clearing operations for payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including fraud prevention, AML (Anti-Money Laundering), and PCI DSS standards. Vendor Management: Liaise with card networks, clearing houses, and third-party providers to optimize service and resolve issues. Client Support: Collaborate with client relationship teams to address card and payment-related queries or challenges. Continuous Improvement: Drive process enhancements, adopt emerging technologies, and implement best practices in card and clearing operations. Reporting: Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management. Experience Required Proven experience in card operations and clearing processes, ideally within the banking or financial services sector. Experience of managing a technical Operations team to deliver customer excellence. Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including PCI DSS, AML, and fraud detection/prevention. Use strong experience to drive Card Operations forward for the bank - Cards & Clearing Scheme rules, particularly Visa and Cheque & Credit Clearing Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. A proactive and problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional client service. Relevant certifications (e.g., ACI, CAMS) are a plus.
