We have an exciting permanent opportunity to join our friendly and supportive temporary accommodation team. As part of this role you will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate support services to homeless and potentially homeless households
Ideally the successful post holder will also have housing experience. You will need to have had a wider backround as you will be working with a range of people, who are experiencing difficulties. You should be non judgemental and able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Managing your own caseload is essential. To undertake a range of tasks associated with the management of temporary accommodation, including book in’s/ out, void management, rent collection and ensuring occupants comply with the conditions of their occupancy at all times. Ensure all rent arrears recovery and early intervention activities are carried out in accordance with policies and procedures including providing advice and assistance to occupants on matters relating to all aspects of Housing Finance including Housing Benefits, council tax discount. Deal with energy providers.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
