Potential job share opportunity 2-3 days a week, 16-24 hours a week. Salary FTE of £32,000- £40,000 dependent on experience
The aim of this role is to provide full generalist support across 3 sites, supporting the Head of HR and maintaining an effective, efficient service to all employees. You will represent company values of Teamwork, Quality, Honest, and Passion.
As part of this role you will:
1. Case management; manage and support investigations, disciplinaries and grievances as and when required. You will need to be well versed and confident in managing such processes. Guidance is available from the Head of HR but you will be able to navigate such employee relations processes.
2. Represent the HR function in key meetings including daily production meeting, ad-hoc employee briefs, Employee Forum meetings.
3. Create and maintain good relationships with internal customers across the group, promoting the open-door policy and maintaining our noteworthy culture.
4. Maintain good relationships with suppliers; agencies, security, training, software and benefits platform providers.
5. Contribute to design, configuration, and communication activities for workplace initiatives, awareness days and benefits programmes.
6. Aid in the creation, implementation, and management of programs, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the company's strategic objectives.
7. Attend Employee Forum meetings and support the HR team in the close off any actions.
8. Support HR Projects including staff survey, Stronger Together initiatives, groceryaid promotion and their associated activities.
9. Support successful and effective direct recruitment at all levels.
10. Support the wellbeing of employees through resources available such as EAP and industry charities.
11. Ensure absence is managed effectively; utilise disciplinary procedure and Occupational Health Services accordingly. Knowledge of Bradford Factor is advantageous.
12. Coach managers with regards to HR policies & employment law, assist in the creation of training sessions/plans for new line managers.
13. Conduct 6 monthly Agency Labour Audit using GLAA tool with each labour provider.
14. Support the HR Apprentice in their development.
15. Support the payroll administrator as and when required.
16. Support the review and amendment of company policies in line with employment law changes.
17. Support the Head of HR in analysis of data for the monthly HR Report.
18. Support other businesses within the Group (based at the same sites) as and when required.
19. Support with other ad hoc requirements as and when required.
Essential
1. CIPD Level 5 qualified.
2. Significant experience (3+ years) in a fast-paced HR function, ideally within a manufacturing operation.
3. 2 years experience of working in a similar role.
4. Up to date knowledge of employment law.
5. Ability to use and manipulate data held in databases, spreadsheets and MS packages to an intermediate level.
6. Strong written English and understanding of the importance of HR documentation.
7. Exposure to all aspects of the employee life cycle including (but not limited to) onboarding, disciplinaries up to and including dismissal, grievances, investigations, redundancy and restructure, complex employee relations cases.
8. You will be able to manage and navigate difficult conversations.
9. Strong communication and organisation skills.

This is a fast-paced, ever-changing, developing and growing business. Priorities and tasks change several times a day. As an individual, you will need to be able to work and learn at pace, juggle multiple priorities and work off your own initiative. This role is part of a team of 4 who are site-based and will be able to support your integration into the team. This role is 100% site-based due to the nature of the business within which we operate. Ideally, start time would be between 7.00am and 8.30am for an 8.5 hour day on site (30 minutes unpaid lunch) however there is a degree in flexibility in start and finish times as our shifts run from 06:00am with the bulk of office-based employees working between 05:30am and 5:30pm.
