We are currently looking to hire an experienced Waste Coordinator to join our Infrastructure team based in Sellafield on a 15 year framework.

Waste Coordinator Role:
To co-ordinate and manage the identification, storage, and disposal of waste, meeting legislative and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake inspections, surveillances, observations, and assurance activities to identify and highlight waste performance gaps, determine root causes and corrective actions to improve performance.
* Monitor and record waste movements, ensuring we are operating within agreed parameters.
* Inspecting waste laydown areas to ensure they are compliant and in line with SL requirements.
* Support the Duty Holder in the investigation of waste incidents and events where required, ensure corrective actions are taken, and learning opportunities identified and shared.
* Work collaboratively with and support the project team, coordinating planned waste management requirements, in accordance with and to prevent delays the project schedule/ programme
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the waste processes, legislation, hazards, and associated controls.
* Identify, support, and facilitate waste improvement programmes.
* Ensuring project Site Waste Management Plan is up to date and is utilised as a live document.
* Completing waste paperwork- history and inventories to ensure removal from site.
* Liaising with client Environmental Advisor to manage waste routes, general day to day waste activities and waste duty of care checks.
* Support the water management arrangements when required (cover/ additional resource to help)
Your profile
* You hold a current and a valid CSCS card, coupled with Contractor/Subcontractor management experience.
* You have experience of performing a waste coordinator role, ideally on large infrastructure/construction projects or in a regulated environment.
* You'll have strong organisational and communication skills, working in a team environment
* You'll also be a strong collaborator and relationship builder with effective stakeholder management skills.
* Have a positive working culture with consistent behaviours and conduct – an assessment may be carried out as part of the interview selection process
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Full UK driving license as transport to site will not be provided.
* Experience of working in a nuclear environment.
