An OCS Pole Catenary Specialist is required to oversee the installation and maintenance of the overhead catenary system (OCS) for the Cairo High Speed Rail.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the installation of OCS poles, ensuring they meet project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
2. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to plan the positioning of the catenary poles and ensure they align with track geometry and high-speed train specifications.
3. Conduct inspections to ensure that all OCS poles are installed correctly and in compliance with all industry standards.
4. Identify issues with the OCS infrastructure, such as misaligned poles or wiring, and coordinate repairs or adjustments as needed.
5. Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and standards.
6. Maintain accurate records of installation progress, quality inspections, and any changes to the original design or specifications.
7. Train and mentor junior staff and contractors involved in the installation and maintenance of the catenary system.

Job Overview:
A tier 1 major contractor is looking for an OCS Pole Catenary Specialist for the Cairo High-Speed Rail (HSR) Project. The OCS Pole Catenary Specialist will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the overhead catenary system that powers the high-speed trains along the Cairo rail corridor. This role involves working closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of OCS poles and associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and manage the installation of OCS poles and catenary systems in alignment with project timelines and specifications.
2. Collaborate with design teams to ensure proper design integration of OCS components with the rail infrastructure.
3. Conduct inspections and quality checks on OCS installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
4. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to the alignment, installation, or performance of OCS poles and catenary systems.
5. Coordinate with subcontractors and other teams to ensure that the catenary system is installed with minimal disruptions to other project components.
6. Ensure all work is performed according to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
7. Document installation progress, changes, and inspections, reporting regularly to project managers and stakeholders.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and field teams involved in OCS installation and maintenance.
9. Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and technical reviews as required.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience working on overhead catenary systems, preferably in high-speed rail or heavy railway projects.
3. Extensive knowledge of OCS installation techniques, tools, and safety standards.
4. Proven experience working with engineering teams to integrate OCS components into large-scale infrastructure projects.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues with OCS systems.
7. Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic language skills are a plus).
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification in electrical systems, railway engineering, or related fields.
2. Experience working in the Middle East or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
