About the Team and the Role:
Are you passionate about working with children in care? Do you enjoy planning and advocating for young people’s future? Are you driven to achieve the best for care experienced young people?
If so, we would love to hear from you and for you to come and work for our Children in Care Permanency Team. We are based in Bedworth and offer a service to all children in care who have a plan of permanency across Warwickshire and those who may be placed further away. If you join us, you will see that we are a busy but highly rewarding team to work for; it is our passion to capture the voice of young people in all that we do and ensure that they are central to all care and pathway planning decisions relating to them and their future.
We have an excellent Local Offer for care leavers, and part of our service is about sharing this with all care experienced young people so that they are aware of the support available to them as they transition to independence at 18 and beyond. We want to continue the drive to ensure young people are at the heart of everything we do, and to do that we are utilising a restorative and trauma-informed approach with our young people to help inform our responses to them and achieve excellent outcomes. At the heart of all this is a culture of understanding the true value and importance of relationships with young people. Not convinced? In our recent OFSTED inspection, published in February 2022, in which we achieved GOOD, they found:
The strengths and relationship-based social work model is embedded, with actions taken to improve services and practice having a tangible impact for many vulnerable children in Warwickshire (OFSTED, Feb 2022).
We understand that social work can be a highly challenging role; because of that, we offer a rigorous and highly supportive 1:1 each month with a manager, and we are clear that decisions are not taken by you alone, and you will be supported and overseen by an experienced and knowledgeable Team Manager. We recognise that coming out of the pandemic, the workplace changed, and to support this, we offer a hybrid working environment. We have the right technology to be able to offer you the opportunity to work from home for some of the week and also an office environment where we utilise an agile approach to your working day, where you have control over your calendar and appointments.
Our Offer to you includes:
* Supportive managers who provide recognition and a robust supervision policy focused on wellbeing and workload.
* Full reimbursement of Social Work England annual fee.
* A Volunteering & Wellbeing Day in addition to generous annual leave and an additional day at Christmas.
* We also offer a Refer a Friend package if you're talking about a return to us with an ex-colleague/friend.
