An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB (Integrated Care Board) asa Pharmacy Technician. Cheshire and Merseyside ICB covers a population of 2.7million people with services provided by 17 NHS trusts, 349 GP practices, 9 local authorities and 590 pharmacies. The post holder will work as a member of a place Medicines Optimisation team to support in delivering the objectives of the functions of the team.
In this role, you will support safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines across primary care and care home settings. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to providetechnical pharmaceutical assistance, contribute tomedicines optimisation initiatives, and engage inpatient-facing activitiesto support better medication use.
The successful applicant will be a passionate individual with a strong commitment to pharmacy practice and patient care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work autonomously and as part of a diverse team to improve medicines management outcomes.
Please note there are two full time posts available.
This will be varied and will adapt over time as the Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy function develops. However, the postholder is expected to fulfil the following key functions: -
· To work as part of a team, to deliver safe, effective, and cost-effective use of the medicines resource in accordance with the medicines management agenda.
· To support delivering specialist technical advice and support to assigned GP practices or care homes within place.
· Support population health and equity of provision to preventative medicine improving health outcomes related to technical services in assigned care homes or practices.
· Deliver programmes of work for assigned practices/care homes, including completion of monitoring to enable progress to be assessed.
· Support systems and processes to provide assurance for medicines and pharmacy delivery within place and at assigned practices or care homes.
