Lawyer (Property, Housing and Regeneration)
Join to apply for the Lawyer (Property, Housing and Regeneration) role at Oxford City Council.
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and confident lawyer who specializes in the areas of property (commercial and housing) and regeneration. You will demonstrate the ability to deliver at pace while ensuring the Council’s strategic aims and objectives are met.
This role focuses on a strong regeneration agenda and a large commercial property portfolio. It presents a challenging and exciting opportunity to work on complex property transactions and major projects to deliver against the Council’s priorities, including housing provision.
As a qualified lawyer, solicitor, barrister, or legal executive, you will have in-depth knowledge and experience of property, housing, and regeneration matters, along with a broad understanding of local government law. You will be able to provide complex legal and procedural advice to board members, elected members, agents, and other internal and external stakeholders.
A commercial and pragmatic focus, along with awareness of the political and corporate implications of decisions, are key to your success. Exceptional communication, negotiation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are also required for this role.
You should be a creative thinker who can influence and drive progress and want to play a prominent role in helping the Council deliver its key projects and property targets and aspirations.
This is an opportunity to apply your legal and professional expertise to realize large projects with high social value within a leading local authority.
