This role is part of the Patient and Family Support team and will work across the Charity's services to assess the psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and family members and implement and oversee suitable creative therapeutic interventions, with a focus on visual arts and life celebration/reminiscence work.
Main duties will include:
* Working with patients and families to identify their therapeutic goals.
* Supporting patients and family members who access our Hospice services to create life celebration work through a range of different media (e.g., letters to family, memory boxes).
* Holding own caseload of creative therapy referrals and supervising volunteers and students to deliver interventions.
* Working with the Bereavement Lead to develop bereavement support services for children and young people.
* Actively contributing to multidisciplinary discussions and patient care planning and proactively anticipating likely needs of a complex caseload.
Successful candidates should hold HCPC registration and have a postgraduate qualification in Art Therapy (or equivalent). Previous experience working in a palliative care healthcare setting will also be required.

This post is subject to Enhanced Level DBS Check, with Children’s and Adult’s barred list checks included.
Starting salary of £46,148, with opportunities to progress to £52,809.
Please note that the salary quoted is based on full-time hours and will be pro-rata’d for part-time posts. As a charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, we may be able to negotiate on this.
