About the Service
As a Dementia Centre of Excellence, Bowbrook is designed specifically to meet the needs of people living with dementia. The centre provides 90 individual living spaces, consisting of six households, each with a communal kitchen, dining area, lounge, cinema room, and access to gardens and outdoor space, including a rooftop terrace. We also have a community hub on site offering a coffee bar, shop, hairdresser, events rooms, garden with children's play area, and much more.
In your new role, you will:
* Build relationships with residents that are open and two-way.
* Support residents in undertaking their daily routines.
* Establish methods of communication with residents, reducing barriers when necessary.
* Accurately report and/or record work activities.
* Support with activities of daily living and personal care.
* Assist residents with mealtimes where necessary.
You will ideally have:
* Experience working within a care environment.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
* A warm-hearted, friendly manner, patience, kindness, and good communication skills.
* An open and honest character, respectful, and able to celebrate diversity.
* The ability to be a natural caregiver and communicate openly with colleagues, residents, and their visitors.
