We have a fantastic opportunity available to join the team at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre as a Casual Chef.
This role is ideal for someone who lives local, enjoys delivering first class food and thrives being part of a team providing public catering, fine dining, and hospitality to large volume of people.
Primary purpose of the role:
To undertake the production and delivery of specific event and venue food service requirements with associated planning, to set specifications with a goal of continual improvement of standards to the group's food vision.
Key responsibilities:
1. Liaise with Senior Head Chef and Head Chef on what is required in their designated area
2. Compliance on all hygiene and Health & Safety Legislation and policies and ensure your work areas are clean and tidy
3. Monitor performance of subordinates and give timely feedback
4. Manage control of waste
5. Deliver menu items to the required specification and standards
6. Be competent in many different catering deliverances this includes being fully competent to manage and deliver a full menu range for large and complex events
7. Considers the cost implications on menus
8. To ensure you, your direct reports and those others working within your areas of responsibility do so in accordance with current, applicable Health and Safety, Fire Safety Legislation and Group Health and Safety Policies, Procedures and arrangements
9. To implement and manage those Group Health and Safety and Fire Safety Policies, procedures and arrangements as applicable to your work activities and working environment
10. Ensure Food Safety requirements are met by you, your direct reports and those working within your areas of responsibility in accordance with our Food Safety Policy and Procedures, liaising with our Food and Safety Support Department where necessary.
Skills, behaviours and experience:
11. Experience in a similar position
12. Minimum City Guilds 7062 or NVQ Level 3
13. Intermediate Hygiene
14. Basic Computer Knowledge
15. Full Clean Driving License and own transport (desired but essential)
