However, there is still an urgent need to bring more effective treatments to patients faster. What will I be doing? Our strategy sets out to bring deeper mechanistic understanding at the molecular and cellular level to all stages of projects, from idea to pre-clinical candidate. This laboratory-based role is focussed on designing, developing and running of cellular assays to identify, profile and characterise the SAR/SKR of small molecules therapeutics, as well as the bespoke characterisation of their mechanism of action to inform dose prediction and clinical efficacy. The successful candidate will drive innovative ways of working through keeping abreast of cutting-edge cellular pharmacology techniques and approaches. What skills will I need? We are seeking an accomplished scientific expert with the following skills and experience: A BSc, MSc or PhD in biological science; relevant experience may be substituted for education Significant experience in a drug discovery environment of characterising targets and their modulation by small molecules through quantitative cell biology Demonstrated theoretical and practical understanding of Pharmacology and drug-target interactions Proficiency in assay development in a range of quantitative cell assay technologies (including proliferation, ELISA, HTRF, HiBiT, NanoBRET, high content imaging, reporter, 2/3D colony formation, incucyte®, MSD, alphaLISA, spheroids and flow cytometry) Experience of liquid handling and automation would be an advantage What will I Our organisation values are designed to guide all that we do.
