Salary: £59,850 - £66,500
Location(s): Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds
Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About this Opportunity
This is an opportunity to bring your experience and expertise in climate-related sustainability to Lloyds Banking Group where you’ll play a key role in delivering our sustainability ambitions.
As Climate Manager you’ll be in a team of sustainability specialists responsible for ensuring that the Group develops and maintains positions on all climate and net zero related topics, with appropriate targets and ambitions in place aligned to strategy, providing strategic advice based on specialist knowledge, market insights and trends and delivering select Group led initiatives that impact the business and our four key environmental systems.
You’ll be part of the Group Sustainable Business team which sits at the centre of the Group and plays an important role in enabling Lloyds Banking Group’s purpose ambitions and activities which are critical to the delivery of the Group’s strategy and helping Britain Prosper.
As Climate Manager, you’ll be:
* Helping to provide guidance to the Group on the evolving challenges and opportunities in the net zero landscape and their interdependency with nature, adaptation, circular economy and just transition themes.
* Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with the Environment-Nature team.
* Assisting with development of approaches for key emerging topics including adaptation, circular economy and carbon markets.
* Handling the delivery of our external sector statement updates.
* Inputting into the team’s evolving approach for generating and sharing actionable insights.
* Using knowledge, insights and external relationships to aid development of areas of thought leadership.
* Encouraging and embedding new, agile and innovative practices.
* Building and maintaining external insights on environmental sustainability issues.
What you’ll need:
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in climate-related sustainability topics relevant to financial institutions.
Specifically we’re looking for someone that:
* Has a deep understanding of climate-related sustainability topics relevant to financial institutions.
* Understands net zero transition solutions in a number of sectors.
* Is experienced in designing and monitoring transition strategies.
* Objectively defines and resolves difficult matters.
* Has a track record of managing relationships with stakeholders.
* Has an active climate and sustainability network.
* Continually looks to develop skills aligned to our sustainability and Group strategy.
* Speaks confidently and writes clearly.
It would also be beneficial to have experience in:
* Climate scenario analysis.
* Understanding of evolving AI tools for analysis and insights.
