The school provides high-quality education for autistic students aged 4 to 19 in a welcoming and supportive environment. With small class sizes (around seven students) and a total of 80 students on roll, the school ensures each child receives the individual attention and tailored support they need. The team is dedicated to creating a calm, structured, and nurturing environment where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to succeed. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play an integral role in the classroom by providing advanced support to students and working alongside teachers to deliver high-quality lessons. You will assist with planning and delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in a teaching assistant role, looking to take on more responsibility and contribute to the overall development of students in a specialist setting. Leading small group work and providing 1:1 support to students. Supporting students with emotional regulation and communication, using strategies such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory integration. Managing classroom activities, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. Contributing to the development of individual learning plans for students. Encouraging independence and confidence in students, helping them reach their full potential. What We're Looking For: A qualified and experienced teaching assistant who is ready to take on the responsibilities of a HLTA. A caring, patient individual with a passion for working with young people. Experience in special educational needs is highly desirable but not essential - we welcome applicants eager to learn. Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families. HLTA qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
