NOTE: The start date for this position will not commence prior to 1 April 2025
Please note that the annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.00/37.00 hours per week. If the position you are applying for is part time or you are only going to be working part of the year, i.e., a term time contract for 38 or 39 weeks per year, the annual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term time.
Role Purpose
The purpose of the Education Worker (Deaf) is to work as an effective member of the support services team within a learning community, delivering high quality service which supports the integration of deaf pupils into mainstream education.
Essential
Experience or formal qualification in sign language eg BSL/SSE/SEE/English, lip speaking, notetaking and/or language modification.
A commitment to work towards formal qualification in BSL
Having well developed, receptive and expressive skills.
