Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to support students aged between 3 and 18 with a range of special educational needs in a specialist school based in Newark.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored support to students with varying SEN, ensuring that each child's individual learning needs are met.
- Help students develop essential skills in both academic and social areas.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support, ensuring that students are engaged and confident in their learning.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
- Support students in their personal care, as needed, and work closely with other staff to maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
- Work with students to help develop their independence and life skills.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues to support the progress and well-being of the students.
Requirements:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- A good understanding of child development and the different types of special educational needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to the well-being and academic success of all students.
