Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner - multi-site role covering the Midlands and North
Salary: £40,000 to £42000 plus excellent benefits package and car allowance
Hours of work: Full time with flexibility to travel
In conjunction with a leading provider of support for people with learning disabilities, and I am looking for a dedicated Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join a dynamic, established team on a multi-site, basis. (FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE AND ACCESS TO YOUR OWN VEHICLE IS ESSENTIAL)
About the Role:
" Location: Midlands and North
" Contract: Full-time, permanent
" Salary: C. £41000 with excellent benefits
Key Responsibilities:
" Undertake referral assessments when required to support our operational colleagues.
" Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals
" Complete the full process to develop PBS plans, direct and indirect assessments.
" Review the efficacy of PBSPs using positive monitoring." Assist with transitions programmes for people moving into their new home
" In partnership with the leadership team and support workers, generate Positive Behaviour Support Plans for service users and ensure the ongoing review of the appropriateness to their needs.
" Promote the Restraint Reduction Training Standards
" Cultivate a shared understanding of the function of behaviour and develop strategies which help the person develop an alternative method of communicating to achieve the same purpose.
" Ensure outcome data relating to distress communication events is collected, analysed and reviewed in a timely manner.
" Deliver CPD sessions to teams when required
" Promote and input into the development of a reflective organisational culture that learns from experience and draws on this learning to improve outcomes for people we support
" Support co-production by involving people we support in their care and support
" Have excellent organisational skills to manage a caseload and plan intervention, coaching and liaison effectively given the often-unpredictable nature of demand.
" Practice Leadership by leading by example and on occasions being on shift with staff to support the implementation of the strategies where appropriate.
" Practice workshops
" Be qualified or willing and able to work towards CPI Safety Intervention Instructor
About You:
You will:
" Have experience of providing support to people utilising the framework of PBS
" Hold a full driving licence and access to own vehicle
" Demonstrate a history in conducting behavioural assessment and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals
" Have a history of direct support experience with people with a learning disability and/or Autism, and behaviours of concern
" Hold a formal qualification in: Positive Behaviour Support i.e. BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, MA or MSc in Autism Studies, PBS Graduate Diploma, PBS BTEC Level 5 (advanced professional Diploma)
