Primary Purpose
Assist the Directors of Elementary and Secondary - Curriculum & Instruction in ensuring the smooth operation of the Department efficiently and professionally.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic math skills.
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing.
Experience:
Three years of secretarial experience, preferably in a public education environment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Perform general office routines and practices, such as creating and typing forms, reports, and correspondence.
2. Read and disseminate incoming mail to the appropriate parties.
3. Schedule appointment conferences and meetings with vendors and consultants.
4. Coordinate and communicate all telephone and walk-in requests made by parents, students, and the general public.
5. Receive and disseminate approved purchase orders to the appropriate parties.
6. Prepare all materials (i.e., agenda, transparencies, handouts, plans, scripts) for board meeting presentations and workshops.
7. Make arrangements and prepare all meeting packets for monthly staff meetings.
8. Assist in preparing travel arrangements for the Directors of Elementary and Secondary in Curriculum and Instruction, other staff members, and consultants.
9. Keep all reference materials organized.
10. Communicate with campus staff as needed.
11. Process payroll requests for Curriculum and Instruction.
12. Maintain confidentiality of communications.
13. Safely perform all duties to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned.

None.

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stressful conditions.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; irregular and/or extended hours possible.
