Senior Facilities Engineer on a contract basis with an Operator client. Full-time office based. The position will be based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide engineering services in the area of Facilities Engineering, including cost projection, approval for expenditure and budgetary control.
2. Provide Facilities Engineering input into existing and new Assets ensuring both design and operational requirements are complied with and are maintained and upgraded as necessary.
3. Formulate and develop conceptual Facilities engineering designs into functional scopes of work for new and existing Assets in an effective and economical manner.
4. Work closely together with other key functions such as HSE, Operations, Maintenance, Integrity, Production, Drilling and Developments to ensure all interfaces are appropriately managed.
5. Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner to comply with statutory and client requirements.
6. Management of engineering, construction, fabric maintenance and third party / vendor support personnel.
7. Provide functional guidance to the company’s engineering contractors and other subcontractors on engineering, design, installation, testing and commissioning activities, to ensure that work performed is of a quality to meet company standards and is produced in a timely and cost effective manner.
8. Provide specialist technical expertise and act as focal point for ensuring the safest and most cost effective methods of Facilities Project installation, whilst minimising any loss of production revenue through innovative techniques, procedures and equipment.
9. Develop, maintain and distribute company standards and specifications utilised within facilities engineering to ensure the quality of work carried out by the client and pertinent contractors is consistent in satisfying Corporate and Legislative requirements and incorporates the benefits of new technology.
10. Assist company support functions to ensure that Facilities actions are completed in a timely manner e.g. close out of Synergi, Threat Log, ICP and Audit actions.
11. Close interface with the company’s finance department, being familiar with approval for expenditure procedures, financial and cost commitment projections.
12. Anticipate future Modification requirements on existing Assets; prepare engineering cost forecast to support annual budget process and life of field planning.
13. Management and control of all shutdown related Facilities, Integrity and Maintenance activities that require the services of the incumbent engineering/construction and fabric maintenance contractors.
14. Management and control of all specialist third party vendors supporting the above activities.
15. Co-ordination of the Vessel cleaning, inspections and associated remedial workscopes.
16. Responsible for ensuring that all workpacks, materials and personnel are available to satisfy the shutdown plan.
17. A member of the team responsible for effective Daily Reporting, Planning updates, attending Meetings and Conference Calls between platform and office.
18. Liaison with external bodies such as Lloyds, in relation to verification, witness testing and commissioning of associated activities.
19. Responsible for ensuring that all as-built/close-out activities have been completed in a timely manner.
20. Champion a culture of Process Safety excellence at the company.
21. Ensure that all relevant Regulations, Standards and Practices are applied within own area of responsibility.
22. Ensure that standards of competence are met and maintained by all personnel within own area of responsibility.
Specific Requirements:
1. Relevant degree (or equivalent qualification).
2. Proven experience on fixed and floating installations.
3. Masters qualification preferred.
4. Chartered engineer preferred.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to work both on own initiative at times but also be a team-player, sharing ideas with other multi-disciplinary team members.
7. Self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
