Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team working permanently with our team contracted to Orbit Housing & Birmingham Council as a Painter Decorator on the Planned works team.
The Painter Decorator will be responsible for Painting Social Housing Properties in the Rubery area of South Birmingham.
Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm.
As a Painter Decorator, you will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. The Painter takes ownership of work, aiming for successful turnaround times, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional on site.
The Customer
Fortem’s contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across South Birmingham, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have multiple workstreams, including Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and Re-Roofing. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Completing work for all properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
2. Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
3. Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
4. Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
5. Affording excellent customer service to client representatives.
6. Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
7. Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
8. Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures.
9. Using a PDA smartphone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.
What you will need
Essential criteria:
NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent / OR Qualified by experience will be considered.
Full UK driving license (Max 5 points).
Desirable: Social Housing experience.
