We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in Old Age Psychiatry to join an established team in Cornwall. This role involves working within Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT)/Inpatient settings, requiring Section 12 approval.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality psychiatric assessments and treatments to older adults within the community and inpatient settings.
2. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
3. Offer expert guidance on the management of mental health conditions in older adults, including dementia, depression, and other related disorders.
4. Assess and manage risk, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
5. Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, taking into consideration the individual needs of patients.
6. Provide supervision and support to junior medical staff and contribute to the continuous professional development of the team.
Requirements:
7. Full GMC registration and license to practice.
8. CCT in Old Age Psychiatry or equivalent.
9. Section 12 Approval is essential.
10. Proven experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
