What the Job Involves This role focuses on the planning, development, and delivery of Levelling Up Fund (LUF) funded Highways and Sustainable Transport Projects. Responsibilities include line management, training, and development of a technically diverse team, and ensuring projects meet time and financial constraints while providing continuous improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. You will manage budgets, produce complex project reports, and maintain financial and risk management systems to ensure robust project delivery. The role also requires direct engagement with stakeholders, organizing and leading project-related communications, and managing procurement processes for contractors and consultants. You will act as the central contact for relevant organizations such as TfL and have health, safety, and risk management duties supplementary to overseeing project delivery. Key tasks involve leading projects in accordance with council governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, and liaising with both internal and third-party bodies to secure project objectives and optimize delivery.
