You will:
1. Lead a culture of value and challenge for developing solutions that achieve the business objectives and risk appetite.
2. Facilitate rigorous root cause analysis, investigations, and data analysis to develop and select solutions.
3. Engage the @one delivery team discipline experts, so that they take responsibility for their project solutions, including:
4. Affordability – @one cost estimates produced and notable discrepancies against the affordability target are proactively identified and addressed.
5. Design – driven by a hierarchy of avoiding or deferring investment; optimising and reuse existing assets; catchment and nature-based solutions; and engineering solutions.
6. Planning – can achieve the completion and obligation dates.
7. Sustainability – contribute to enhancing natural capital and reducing carbon.
8. Construction – safe and efficient.
9. Enabling – EIA, planning and customer constraints are identified and addressed.
10. Procurement – long-lead items and specialist supplier inputs are identified.
11. Operations – identification of legacy and compliance risk.
12. When required, drive the Risk, Opportunity & Value process to produce value driven outcomes that achieve the business objectives, including considering TOTEX, Benefits, and Six Capitals.
13. Develop the resource strategy for the @one Solutions Team. Recruit, plan and allocate resources on a best for task basis. Provide mentoring and training.
14. Using the PAS 2080 principles of ‘Avoid – Switch – Improve’, identify ways to reduce carbon and increase natural capital within solutions.
15. Be familiar with and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety policies and procedures (both for the client and Skanska).
16. Be familiar with and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Environmental policies and procedures.
17. Support creating a positive and fulfilling environment, where everyone is respected and heard, treated equally, recognised, and diversity is embraced.
We’re looking for:
18. Degree educated in an environmental discipline.
19. Preferably chartered, or working towards, chartered status.
20. Preferable experience of engineering, water-sector assets and delivering capital projects.
21. Experience of a Design & Build collaborative environment.
22. Demonstrates excellence for leadership, business ethics, respect to others, enhancing our reputation, health and safety and integrity.
