Large & Complex Audit will include listed companies (corporate and financial services) their subsidiaries in the UK and internationally, as well as other public interest entities such as banks, insurers, large private companies and public sector organisations, public sector organisations and charities.

Deloitte's Insurance Audit and Assurance Group provides a range of high value Audit and Assurance services to some of the largest insurance brokers and non-life and life insurers in the UK and as part of global teams.
We are a team of dedicated professionals with deep audit and financial reporting skills, in-depth knowledge of insurance regulation and substantial experience of the insurance industry. Your role
We are looking to expand our team by focused, aspirational and collaborative practitioners, and as such we are offering the opportunity to join as a director to support this challenging and rapidly expanding business. As a member of our team, reporting to a Partner, you will have responsibility for:
1. Consistently applying professional scepticism and technical rigour in order to deliver high-quality audits
2. Consulting and collaborating with specialists in key areas of your audits
3. Owning and communicating the importance of quality within your teams and with the management of the entities you audit
4. Driving a culture of coaching and developing your team members, including in relation to audit quality
5. Leading conversations on engagement pricing
6. Ensuring budgets are prepared in a timely manner and reflect the realistic resourcing needs of an audit and explaining variances from budget
7. Active involvement in business development and tendering for new audits and assurance engagements
8. Managing relationships with management and the board at audit entities
9. Involvement in wider office practice management roles
10. Representing Deloitte in the marketplace through presenting at seminars and other networking events
11. Leading diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
Essential candidate requirements
1. ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
2. Previous experience of working with IFRS and / or UK GAAP reporting standards
3. Experience in auditing financial services clients
4. The ability to present client data in a clear and concise format
5. Ability to develop effective relationships
6. Project management experience
