Overview
Under the direction of Corps Officers, the security and maintenance personnel help to ensure the building is properly cleaned and sanitary for staff and visitors. Maintain the Chapel clean and in order.
Responsibilities
1. Report directly to the Officers regarding all janitorial and facility-related issues, including repairs, hazards, defects, and supplies as needed.
2. Clean and sanitize the Women’s and Men’s rooms in the office and chapel sections.
3. Maintain and clean public areas and workspaces as assigned.
4. Empty all trash cans from the kitchen as needed.
5. Maintain floors by cleaning, stripping, waxing, mopping, and vacuuming as directed.
6. Perform minor repairs as assigned.
7. Other duties as needed and assigned by the Officers.
8. Demonstrate the ability to recognize priorities in the Corps and perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
9. Maintain confidentiality of the clients of the Corps program.
10. Interact in a positive and helpful manner with co-workers, volunteers, clients, and visitors.
11. Reflect commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintain a positive attitude at the workplace.
12. Project a good image as a worker of the Corps.
13. The Salvation Army reserves the right to add to, delete, change, or modify the job duties. Employees may be required to carry out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Knowledge of and ability to read and write in English and Spanish.
2. Experience working with a disadvantaged population is necessary.
3. Must be able to work primarily standing and moving.
4. Ability to take and follow instructions for assigned tasks, with familiarity in Building Safety and Maintenance.
