Job summary Band 6 NURSE/ODP Orthopaedic/ General Scrub Operating Theatres / Staffordshire Treatment suite / Modular Hand Suite County Hospital Stafford - We have an exciting opportunity for applications from enthusiastic individuals to work within our busy theatre complex's as a senior operating department practitioner / registered nurse undertaking orthopaedic scrub. We also have options for those undertaking General scrub. We are looking for a Theatre Practitioner, Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner for full time position, however part time would be considered. Theatre is a fast paced environment where a positive attitude, energy and innovation are welcomed. As a team leader you will be expected to deliver high standards of perioperative care, and have the ability to support and develop your own skills andfacilitate / support and develop the team to provideexcellent patient care within the department. We ask that applicants have a minimum of 2 years' experience at band 5 and can demonstrate leadership skills and qualities. You will be expected to lead a team in theatre and at times the department. Main duties of the job We require you to have excellent scrub and leadership skills, the successful candidate will work a 4 day week that will include weekends and a night rota for ODP's. In turn, we can offer you a structured preceptorship and induction programme for all new members of staff, plus access to on-going continuing professional education and development, appraisal and clinical supervision.Please understand that although this position is at County hospital we are one hospital with Royal Stoke and you may-be required to work there on occasion. Senior scrub staff will need to take responsibility for the smooth running of the operating list supporting the team in theatre. There may be occasions' when you would be required to work outside of your specific speciality specialities.
